What Happens Next

Once I receive a valid DMCA notice, here’s my process :

1. I’ll review the notice to make sure it includes all required information
2. If anything’s missing, I’ll reach out to ask for clarification
3. Once complete, I’ll take reasonable steps to disable access to the claimed material (this might mean blocking certain thumbnail downloads)
4. I’ll notify the user who requested the download, if possible
5. I’ll keep records as required by law

This process usually takes 2-5 business days, depending on the complexity .

Counter-Notice – If You Believe Content Was Wrongly Removed

If you’re a user who downloaded a thumbnail and it was removed, but you believe it was a mistake or misidentification, you can file a counter-notice. This starts the process of potentially restoring access .

What Your Counter-Notice Must Include

1. Your contact information (name, address, phone, email)
2. Identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal

What Happens After a Counter-Notice

When I receive a valid counter-notice:

1. I’ll send a copy to the original complainant
2. I’ll inform them that I may restore access in 10-14 business days unless they seek a court order
3. If no court action is initiated, I may restore the material

Repeat Infringer Policy

I take copyright seriously. In appropriate circumstances, I may disable access or terminate accounts of users who are repeat infringers. For this tool, that might mean blocking IP addresses or implementing other measures to prevent abuse .

Important Context – How This Tool Works

To be completely transparent, this thumbnail downloader doesn’t store any thumbnails on its own servers. When you download youtube thumbnail, the tool acts like a bridge – it takes the video ID from your link and fetches the image directly from YouTube’s public CDN (content delivery network) .

This means:

• I don’t host any copyrighted images
• I don’t have a database of thumbnails
• Every download comes directly from YouTube’s servers
• I can’t “remove” thumbnails from YouTube – only from access through this tool

If you believe a thumbnail infringes your copyright, the most effective step is to contact YouTube directly through their own DMCA process. But I still maintain this policy to be a responsible service provider and to address any concerns about how my tool is used .
