DMCA Policy
Introduction β Why This Policy Exists
I take copyright seriously. This youtube thumbnail downloader tool is designed to help users access publicly available images, not to infringe on anyone’s rights. But I also understand that sometimes things happen, and creators need a way to protect their work .
This DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) policy explains how copyright owners can request removal of content and how users can respond if they believe content was removed by mistake. It’s all part of keeping things fair and legal .
Designated Copyright Agent
If you believe your copyrighted work has been used in a way that constitutes infringement, you can contact my designated DMCA agent. Here’s how:
Please note: This contact information is only for copyright infringement claims. For other inquiries, use the regular contact email .
How to File a DMCA Takedown Notice
If you’re a copyright owner and believe your work appears in a way that infringes your rights, you can send a takedown notice. To be effective, your notice must include specific information. I know legal stuff can be intimidating, so here’s exactly what I need :
Required Information
- Your contact information: Name, address, phone number, and email address
- Identification of the copyrighted work: Describe what you own (e.g., “my YouTube thumbnail from this video: [link]”)
- Identification of the material: Tell me exactly which thumbnails or content you believe are infringing. URLs or video IDs are super helpful
- Statement of good faith: A statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn’t authorized by the copyright owner, agent, or law
- Accuracy statement: A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you’re authorized to act on behalf of the owner
- Your signature: Physical or electronic signature

What Happens Next
Once I receive a valid DMCA notice, here’s my process :
- I’ll review the notice to make sure it includes all required information
- If anything’s missing, I’ll reach out to ask for clarification
- Once complete, I’ll take reasonable steps to disable access to the claimed material (this might mean blocking certain thumbnail downloads)
- I’ll notify the user who requested the download, if possible
- I’ll keep records as required by law
This process usually takes 2-5 business days, depending on the complexity .
Counter-Notice β If You Believe Content Was Wrongly Removed
If you’re a user who downloaded a thumbnail and it was removed, but you believe it was a mistake or misidentification, you can file a counter-notice. This starts the process of potentially restoring access .
What Your Counter-Notice Must Include
- Your contact information (name, address, phone, email)
- Identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed due to mistake or misidentification
- A statement consenting to jurisdiction of federal court in your district (or where you’re located)
- Your signature (physical or electronic)

What Happens After a Counter-Notice
When I receive a valid counter-notice:
- I’ll send a copy to the original complainant
- I’ll inform them that I may restore access in 10-14 business days unless they seek a court order
- If no court action is initiated, I may restore the material
Repeat Infringer Policy
I take copyright seriously. In appropriate circumstances, I may disable access or terminate accounts of users who are repeat infringers. For this tool, that might mean blocking IP addresses or implementing other measures to prevent abuse .
If you consistently use this youtube thumbnail grabber to download thumbnails you don’t have rights to, or if I receive multiple valid DMCA notices about your activity, I may restrict your access .
Important Context β How This Tool Works
To be completely transparent, this thumbnail downloader doesn’t store any thumbnails on its own servers. When you download youtube thumbnail, the tool acts like a bridge β it takes the video ID from your link and fetches the image directly from YouTube’s public CDN (content delivery network) .
This means:
- I don’t host any copyrighted images
- I don’t have a database of thumbnails
- Every download comes directly from YouTube’s servers
- I can’t “remove” thumbnails from YouTube β only from access through this tool
If you believe a thumbnail infringes your copyright, the most effective step is to contact YouTube directly through their own DMCA process. But I still maintain this policy to be a responsible service provider and to address any concerns about how my tool is used .
Misuse of DMCA Notices
Filing a false DMCA notice or counter-notice can have serious legal consequences, including liability for damages and attorney’s fees. Please only file if you genuinely believe infringement has occurred or that a removal was mistaken .

π Plain English Summary
If you’re a creator and find your thumbnail being downloaded through this tool in a way that bothers you, send me a DMCA notice with the details listed above. I’ll look into it and block access if appropriate. If you’re a user and your download was blocked by mistake, you can send a counter-notice. I don’t host thumbnails β just help access what’s on YouTube β but I still want to respect copyright and handle disputes fairly .
